The famous Caldaro Wine Route was founded in 1964, becoming one of the oldest wine routes in Italy. About 84% of the South Tyrolean vineyards are located here. The route has its beginning in Nalles and covers the area of Bolzano reaching Caldaro and Salorno.
The Südtirols Süden tourist association periodically organizes horseback rides across the most important places of the Wine Route, giving the participants the possibility of visiting wine cellars and tasting some of the most delicious wines. Besides, they offer also guided tours to the most renowned wineries. Not to be missed – from March to November, a visit to the Wine Museum sited in the center of Caldaro, where the wine lovers will discover all that is worth knowing about vineyards and viticulture.
